The play is picked, the cast is set, the producer gets a crew together. The set is built and painted. Props are placed. The show is almost ready to begin. But there is one thing that we still need – – Volunteers for Concessions, Ushers and House Managers.
Concessions Hosts: Arrive at the theatre one hour prior to the show and stay until after intermission. They set up the concession items and sell prior to the show and during intermission. All items are $1 – so math is easy! They are welcome to see the show if seats are available.
Ushers: Arrive at the theatre 40 minutes before the show starts. They check tickets, hand out play bills and help patrons to their seats. Volunteer needs to be able to stand and walk for a 30 minute period of time. They are welcome to see the show if seats are available.
House managers have an important role in our theatre! They oversee the lobby area of our playhouse, greet and direct patrons as they enter the theatre, help with late seating and are prepared in the unlikely event of an emergency. They are the communications coordinator between the stage manager, box office, ushers and concessions. Volunteers for this position need to be 18 years or older, with the ability to coordinate different items, greet people and problem solve if need arises. Must have working knowledge of theatre and performance etiquette.
Also needed in our Front of the House staff are Box Office Attendants. These people are responsible for selling tickets at our box office, taking calls concerning tickets and other events for our theatre, ensuring our online sales and will call tickets are prepared for our guests, and handling payments for the theatre.
